Enrolments at Tannum Sands State High School are welcomed through a formal process that begins with an enrolment interview involving the student and their parent or guardian. This interview is conducted by a member of the school’s administration team and is an important step in ensuring a smooth transition into our school community.
To initiate the enrolment process, families are required to submit a hard copy of the enrolment forms. Wherever possible, we encourage these forms to be returned in person. This allows us to arrange the enrolment interview promptly and verify all necessary documentation at the time of submission.
Tannum Sands State High School operates under an Enrolment Management Plan. This means that students must reside within the school’s designated catchment area to be guaranteed a place. There are two separate catchment maps: one for students in Years 7 to 10, and another for students in Years 11 and 12, which includes an extended southern boundary to incorporate Bororen State School and Miriam Vale State School.
Families can check whether their address falls within the catchment area by visiting the EdMap website. Proof of residential address is required for all enrolments.
Students who live outside the catchment area may still apply for enrolment, subject to availability. These families must complete an Out-of-Catchment Expression of Interest form. In addition, out-of-catchment students may wish to apply for one or both of the school’s Excellence Programs: the Boyne Smelter Limited (BSL) / Zenith Program and the Instrumental Music Program.
