Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence at Tannum Sands State High School!

What is BSL Zenith?

Now in its 25th year, the BSL Zenith Enrichment Program is a cornerstone of the Tannum Sands State High School experience. It empowers students to embrace challenges and collaborate with like-minded peers in an environment where curiosity and a passion for learning are nurtured.

The program fosters a strong sense of belonging for students and their families, while celebrating individual identity. Our goal is to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to confidently pursue their post-school pathways. We encourage students to explore their options, become lifelong learners, and prepare to meet the challenges of life beyond high school.

Our students truly go "Above and Beyond" to "Create Their Futures."

Who Can Participate?

The BSL Zenith Enrichment Program is proudly inclusive and diverse. It is open to all Tannum Sands SHS students who wish to enrich their learning through extracurricular opportunities.

While the program is designed to support gifted and talented students, it also offers a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom that are open to all interested students, catering to varied interests and learning styles.

Diverse Opportunities

Students in the BSL Zenith Enrichment Program are often described as the “round pegs in square holes"—curious, passionate, empathetic, deep thinkers who love to explore and question the world around them.

To support this diversity, the program offers a wide array of continually evolving opportunities shaped by student interests, available resources, and staff expertise. These include:

Queensland Virtual STEM Academy (QVSA) Courses

Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) Programs & Events

Horizon Educational Hydrogen Grand Prix

CQUniversity partnerships

Curious Minds STEM Mentoring Program

National Youth Science Forum (supported by Gladstone Region Rotary Clubs)

Australian Science Olympiad Exams

ICAS & Australian Mathematics Competition

We encourage students to go “Above and Beyond" by identifying and engaging in programs, camps, and competitions that align with their passions, interests, and/or future study and career aspirations.
